Whoa whoa whoa, what? When does that happen in the manga? Admittedly, I haven’t re-read the beginning stuff recently, so maybe I’m forgetting something from the Soul Society arc… ??

It’s an omake made for one of those official bootlegs, that contains funny stories invented by Kubo.

It also has been made for tv, at the end of episode 149.

Yeah…  I don’t know if I’d feel right calling this ‘canon’ still. I know some omakes are more or less extensions and asides to the actual storylines/etc… but this looks, as someone else pointed out, like a joke meant to foreshadow the upcoming anime filler.

yup, the problem is that this comic has been made 2 years before the filler was out, and I don’t think the anime authors were planning to make it at that time, they were still realizing the previous filler… it’s more natural to think that they got the idea from this little thing maybe.

And again, I’m not saying this is canon, but that Zabimaru’s human form design has some sort of start made by Kubo.
